Referrals can be made for many of these basic necessities. The Victim Witness Assistance Unit has a Witness Security Unit that assists with addressing immediate safety concerns. Referrals can be made for each of these services depending on the victims' needs. Victim/Witness Advocates often serve as emotional support (including homicide cases) during the life of the case. Oftentimes, Advocates attend court hearings with victims/witnesses and extended family members. Referrals and resources can be provided depending on needs.
